I've don't have a lot to talk about lately, but two things did happen this week. 1- I finally hit my prebaby weight. And 2- I got a new hairstyle- exciting to me, not really to anyone else granted. I added lots of dark colors and streaks.
I was trying to explain it to a friend over the phone and I happily said it looks a little trampy. She seemed a little appalled by the explanation and scoffed, "Why would you want to look trashy."
But then I enlightened her. Trashy and trampy are in NO way the same word. Puh-lease. Like I want to look trashy. She argued they are both words for slutty. I disagree.
Tram-py: Kind of slutty-looking; diva; sassy; attitude.
Trash-y: Kind of slutty-looking; diva; sassy; attitude, who lives in a trailer park, wears wife-beaters and drinks Pabst with her TV dinner - except on bowling night and then you drink Colt 45 because that's what Randy is serving up at the bar.
(I don't make this stuff up, it's in the dictionary)
I am trampy. Not trashy.
I then forwarded her the picture of the new do to which she replied.
"I love love love it! It makes you look flawless like melted butter. Tanned, melted butter."
And I think to myself, if "tanned, melted butter" isn't a compliment, I don't know what is.
